The pride of the Botran Family is expressed in their top shelf Solera 1893 spirit, produced by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala. ![]() Botran Solera 1893 rum from Guatemala. Using virgin sugar cane honey and a slow fermentation process, this premium rum is aged in a large solera system high in the mountains of Guatemala for many years, resting in small charred American oak barrels previously used for whiskey and sherry. This rum exhibits a deep mahogany color and generous viscosity, producing slow delicate legs. Aromas include notes of vanilla, smoky wood, light notes of dried fruit, nuts and spices. The taste is complex, warm and well balanced with a long finish. The bold tear-drop shaped bottle suggests a fine cognac and many would agree that this rum approaches the same in it's complexity and rich flavor profile. The Ron Botran brand of spirits was established in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala in 1939, situated at more than 7,500 feet above sea level. The corporation was founded in 1963 and they currently export a wide range of fine rums throughout the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe.
